Over Summer 2025, Charlottesville Public Schools (VA) underwent major renovations at the 1960s-era Buford Middle School. Instead of throwing their old furniture away, Charlottesville PS partnered with IRN – The Reuse Network. Through this partnership, we were able to orchestrate the reuse of over 1,200 items, including student desks, chairs, and more. These pieces were shipped to Sierra Leone, where they will help furnish classrooms and create a better learning environment for students in need.
